The Seville Water Play facility was the first project of its kind for the Yarra Ranges Shire – the re-imagining of what had been a closed and broken public swimming pool into a new all-year round water play facility.

Working from a design that retained elements of the old pool shell, the overall idea was to reference the story of water in the Yarra Ranges: water originating from the “mountain”, making its way through rocky terraces and through to the lowlands near the bay. This was realised through bubblers and jets in the raised floor of the pool with a more natural rocky and dry creek bed area.

The park has been a huge success for more than a decade with high visitation numbers, and spawning a number of additions to the park over the years.
